Bible Study

bible studySummer Bible Study
Here is our plan for summer Bible study.

It is different from the previously two published versions as the calendar keeps changing. Thankfully, we are adaptable.

We will spend our Wednesdays covering wide swaths from the book of Galatians.

This will be a time to listen and share what God has in store for His Church!
Galatians is a book that deeply shaped Martin Luther, so this is a good study to pursue in the year we commemorate the 500th anniversary of the Reformation.

Additionally, this book speaks about how we should—in light of the faith and grace given to us by Christ—live as a body of believers. It is a book that speaks to our church and faith as much as it did to its original recipients.

Our Wednesday study will meet at 7 PM on these dates:

We will be finishing our Summer Bible Study in
August. Here’s what we’ll be studying:

August 2 Galatians 4:21-31
9 Vacation Bible School
—please volunteer
16 Galatians 5:1-15
23 Galatians 5:16-26
30 Galatians 6:1-18

When the Bible Study closes, that means it is time to pursue other activities and ministries at St. John’s Evangelical Church. Please consider serving on Wednesday evenings with the music ministry, the children’s ministry, or the middle school youth group. Another opportunity to serve would be at Celebrate Recovery on Tuesday or by reaching out to those who gather here for Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, or Heroin Anonymous. See Pastor Randall for next steps. If you miss the Bible Study and are seeking for a way to learn and grow in the Word and in faith, then please join a Life Group. Again, see Pastor Randall and he will direct you to the Life Group facilitators, group leaders, or other resources.
